TPSC Combined Competitive Examination for Miscellaneous Posts (or TPSC CCE in short) is a very crucial yearly recruitment process for filling up vacancies for various seats under various departments of Tripura State Government. Selection Process:
Earlier TPSC Combined Competitive Examination had been conducted in 3 different stages: – Preliminary, Main and Personality Test with different syllabus structures. However, from now onward this selection process will consist of only 2 stages, they are – Main Examination and Personality Test, omitting the Preliminary Examination.
Main Examination – Main Examination was previously conducted in descriptive pattern, whereas from now onward it will be completely conducted in the form of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) pattern in OMR sheets.
This examination will be covered in 2 separate papers: – General Studies Paper I and General Studies Paper II.
Paper I examination will be held in the morning for 2 hours duration of 200 marks. Paper II will be held at afternoon, for 200 marks with 2 hours duration.
Overall, Main Examination counts to 200 marks + 200 marks = 400 marks.

The targeted marks for Personality Test is 50, which shall be added along with the marks scored in the Main Examination out of 400 marks.
Final Merit List:
As per the guidelines included in the newly amended selection process for TPSC CCE, final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in the Main Examination and marks obtained in the Personality Test. Merit position of candidates who secure equal marks will be finalized based on their seniority of age.
It is further provided that in the list of recommendation, merit position of candidates securing equal marks in aggregate and also of the same age, will be decided on the basis of the percentage of marks obtained in the minimum educational qualification prescribed in Recruitment Rules/Service Rules.
Ranks of the candidates are not prepared for the candidates beyond the recommendation list and waiting list (if there be any).
Syllabus:
After latest changes in selection process was announced, syllabus underwent a major change for Main Examination, both in Paper 1 and Paper 2.
Updated Syllabus for Main Examination and their marks distribution:
Syllabus for Main Examination:
Paper: General Studies (Paper-I & Paper II) (Pattern: MCQ) Time: 2 hours for each paper
My Personal Suggestions for Your Preparation to Crack this Examination:
Firstly, you should try to understand the detail structure of the syllabus, and collect relevant/appropriate reference books for this examination. Since, there is a change in the selection process and pattern of the Main Examination for the first time, therefore no relevant question papers are available at the TPSC office library. Hence, you have to prepare accordingly with the syllabus.
But, don't worry... as Main Examination will be based on MCQ types, it will not be too difficult to crack the papers, except that it will bear you negative marks for every wrong selection of answers.
