Although various indigenous tribes are living in the tiny state Tripura, Kokborok is the most widely spoken language beside Bengali. If someone travels in whole parts of the state, he will eventually notice majority people speaking Kokborok. Therefore it is really exciting to wait for any movie which is made in Kokborok language and watchable on big screen. Mwkhang is one such movie.

The main theme and story of Mwkhang has not yet been revealed, and we will get to know only after its release. Unfortunately, its expected release date is no longer known or shared by its production team, and therefore we will have to wait with fingers crossed.
Several Kokborok music videos are regularly created and uploaded on the web, but it is hard to find very good quality Kokborok movies (in technical and visual appearance terms). It is due to lack of competition and absence of many good production houses/banners which could invest and sponsor in making more quality Kokborok movies.

However, SSR Cinemas Pvt Ltd, a production banner controlled by Satadeep Saha, has been doing an outstandingly decent job in producing Kokborok movies in recent times. In 2015, it released a romantic love triangle Kokborok movie Bwkha which was well received by the audiences. Satadeep Saha is also the owner of Rupasi Multiplex theatre attached to the Big Bazaar shopping complex located in the heart of capital Agartala.
More producers, investors and sponsors are necessary at the moment to encourage in making good Kokborok movies, such that they can tackle with movies made in other neighbourhood states like Assam, Manipur, Sikkim and Meghalaya. These states have noticeably progressed in movie productions with their distinguished styles and creative contents.
Never to lose hopes, Rome was not built in a single day and it took years after years to become into what it is today. Thus, Kokborok movies will also progress gradually, and will be compared with mainstream cinemas by national medias.
